Product description

Resin Standard, Black – Prof. Lab

Standard black resin Prof. Lab Resin Standard Black is a universal photopolymer for 3D printing on SLA/LCD/MSLA printers. It is designed for a combination of high detail, reasonable strength, and ease of use, making it suitable for both beginners and advanced users looking for a reliable “workhorse” resin.

Main benefits

  • High resolution and sharply rendered details – ideal for miniatures, figurines, models, and prototypes
  • Matte black surface – perfect for presenting details, photography, and painting
  • Low shrinkage – accurate dimensions, good shape stability, and better fit of parts together
  • Balanced strength and stiffness – parts are not extremely brittle; with proper settings they withstand normal handling
  • Fast and reliable curing – optimized for modern UV LCD/MSLA printers (405 nm)
  • Easy cleaning – compatible with IPA/ethanol and common wash/cure stations
  • Universal use – suitable for hobby printing, prototyping, visual models, and technical concepts

Typical applications

  • Figurines, miniatures, gaming models
  • Prototypes and visual product models
  • Technical components without high mechanical or thermal stress
  • Design and decorative elements
  • Spare parts, holders, covers, and auxiliary jigs

Not intended for medical applications or for long-term contact with skin or food.

Recommended printing parameters (approximate)

Specific exposure times may vary depending on the display power and printer design; the following values serve as a starting point:

  • UV wavelength: 405 nm
  • Layer height: 0,025–0,05 mm (for detailed printing), up to 0,1 mm (for larger, less detailed parts)
  • Normal layer exposure time: approx. 1,5–3,5 s (depending on the printer type)
  • Bottom layer exposure time: 20–40 s / 4–8 layers
  • Ambient temperature: ideally 20–25 °C

After printing it is recommended to:

  1. Rinse the model in IPA/ethanol (manually or in a wash station) – briefly, to avoid surface degradation.
  2. Dry the model (e.g. with compressed air or by letting it drip off).
  3. Post-cure in a UV chamber (approx. 5–15 minutes depending on part size).

Safety and handling

  • Always use gloves and eye protection while working.
  • Avoid contact of the resin with skin and eyes.
  • Print and handle in a well-ventilated area.
  • Store unused resin in a dark, cool place in a well-sealed bottle.
  • Dispose of cured resin waste as plastic waste, liquid resin according to local regulations for hazardous materials.
