Product description
Prof. Lab Resin ABS-like, Skin
Prof. Lab Resin ABS-like in the shade Skin (skin tone/skin color) is a versatile photopolymer resin for MSLA/LCD/UV 3D printers (405 nm), designed to resemble as closely as possible the properties of classic ABS plastic – i.e. high toughness, lower brittleness, and good dimensional stability. The skin tone makes it ideal for printing figurines, busts, characters, prosthetic and anatomical models, as well as design and technical parts.
Key benefits
- ABS-like mechanical properties – higher toughness and crack resistance compared to standard brittle resins.
- Pleasant skin (skin tone) shade – suitable for character models, cosplay accessories, figurines, and realistic prototypes.
- High print resolution – very fine details, smooth surfaces, and sharp edges even on small models.
- Dimensional accuracy – low shrinkage during curing, suitable for functional prototypes and assemblies.
- Good balance between stiffness and flexibility – parts are less likely to crack during assembly, screwing, or snapping together.
- Compatibility with most LCD/UV printers (405 nm) – suitable for popular desktop resin printers.
Recommended applications
- Figurines, busts, and characters in a realistic skin tone
- Design and presentation models (for industrial and product design)
- Functional prototypes with higher mechanical resistance
- Models for cosplay and props (handles, armor parts, decorative elements)
- Prototypes of housings and covers replacing ABS in small production runs
Recommended print settings (approximate)
Specific values may vary depending on the printer type, UV LED power, layer height, and ambient conditions. Treat them as a starting point and fine-tune according to your own tests.
- Wavelength: 405 nm (standard for most desktop resin printers)
- Layer height: 0,025–0,05 mm for high detail, 0,05–0,1 mm for standard printing
- Exposure time (normal layers): approx. 2–4 s at 0,05 mm (depending on the printer)
- Exposure time (bottom layers): 25–40 s (3–6 bottom layers)
- Ambient temperature: ideally 20–25 °C
Post-processing
- Rinse – after printing, rinse the model in isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or a suitable resin cleaning solution.
- Drying – let the model dry, or gently blow it off with compressed air.
- Post-curing – cure in a UV chamber (405 nm) for approximately 5–10 minutes, depending on the size and wall thickness of the part.
- Final finishing – surfaces can be sanded, filled, and painted similarly to ABS or other plastics.
Safety and storage
- This is a chemical product; always use gloves and eye protection and work in a well-ventilated area.
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes; uncured resin is irritating.
- Store in a dark and cool place, ideally at 15–25 °C.
- Protect from direct sunlight and UV radiation.
Summary
Prof. Lab Resin ABS-like, Skin is a versatile and cost-effective resin for users who need a combination of a visually attractive skin tone shade and mechanically more durable “ABS-like” behavior. It is an excellent choice both for modelers and figurine creators and for engineers and designers looking for a reliable material for prototypes and small functional parts made on desktop resin 3D printers.
Key features:
- ABS-like resin with higher toughness and lower brittleness than standard resins
- Skin tone shade ideal for printing figurines, busts, and realistic character models
- Very fine details and a smooth surface for presentation and collector models
- Low shrinkage and good dimensional stability for functional prototypes
- Compatible with most desktop LCD/MSLA printers with 405 nm UV LED
- Can be mechanically finished – sanding, drilling, filling, and painting
- Balanced ratio of price, mechanical properties, and surface quality
