Product description

Prof. Lab Resin ABS-like Blue – tough resin for everyday functional printing

Prof. Lab Resin ABS-like Blue is a photopolymer resin designed for LCD/UV 3D printers (MSLA), formulated to behave similarly to classic ABS – it is strong, less brittle than standard resin, and withstands common mechanical stress.

Thanks to its low shrinkage and high accuracy, it is ideal for printing functional components, prototypes, covers, mounts, mechanical parts, and detailed visual models where a combination of strength and reasonable flexibility is required.

Key features

  • ABS-like mechanical properties – higher toughness and lower brittleness than common standard resins.
  • Blue opaque color – clearly readable details, suitable for prototyping and presentation models.
  • Low shrinkage – accurate dimensions, good print repeatability.
  • High detail resolution – sharp edges, fine structures, suitable for technical and figurine models.
  • Compatibility with common LCD/UV 3D printers – suitable for a 405 nm UV source (most desktop resin printers).
  • Balanced flexibility and strength – parts are less likely to crack during assembly or light bending.

Recommended applications

  • Functional prototypes and mechanical prototype parts
  • Holders, covers, brackets, and small structural components
  • Precise technical models and jigs
  • Model-making parts, figurines, and accessories requiring higher durability

Recommended printing and curing parameters

Specific values may vary depending on the printer type, UV source power, and layer height. Treat the following settings as initial reference recommendations:

  • Printer type: LCD/MSLA, UV 405 nm
  • Layer height: 0,025–0,05 mm (0,05 mm recommended for everyday printing)
  • Exposure of normal layers: approx. 2–3 s at the power of typical desktop LCD printers
  • Exposure of bottom layers: 25–35 s (4–6 bottom layers)
  • Ambient temperature during printing: 20–28 °C

After printing, the model must be rinsed in isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or a dedicated cleaning solution for resins and then post-cured in a UV station (usually 5–10 minutes, depending on part size and wall thickness).

Safety and handling

  • Use the resin in a well-ventilated area.
  • Work with protective gloves and avoid contact with skin and eyes.
  • Keep out of reach of children and away from heat sources or direct sunlight.
  • Do not pour uncured resin into drains; always cure the material before disposal.

Storage

  • Store in a dark and cool place (ideally 15–25 °C).
  • Always close the bottle tightly to minimize contact with ambient moisture and light.

Thanks to the combination of easy printing, good dimensional stability, and increased toughness, Prof. Lab Resin ABS-like Blue is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to get not only beautiful but also practically usable parts from their resin printer.

Key features:

  • ABS-like resin with higher toughness and resistance to cracking
  • Blue opaque color suitable for prototypes and presentation models
  • Low shrinkage for accurate dimensions and good print repeatability
  • High level of detail and sharp model edges
  • Compatible with most desktop LCD/MSLA printers (UV 405 nm)
  • Suitable for functional parts, mechanical components, and technical prototypes
  • Balanced ratio of strength and flexibility – less brittle than standard resins
