Product description
Prof. Lab Resin ABS-like gray – durable resin for functional prints
Prof. Lab Resin ABS-like in gray is a photosensitive resin designed for LCD/MSLA 3D printers that simulates the mechanical properties of classic ABS. Compared to common “standard” resins, it is less brittle, better withstands bending and impacts, and is therefore suitable for prototypes, functional components, and precise models.
The gray shade is ideal for enhancing details – you can clearly see shapes, gaps, and possible imperfections on it, making it great for visual inspection, model making, and parts intended for subsequent painting.
Main advantages
- ABS-like properties – higher toughness and resistance to cracking than common standard resins.
- Neutral gray color – highly readable surface, suitable for checking details and final surface finishing.
- High printing accuracy – cures fine structures, sharp edges, and small inscriptions well.
- Universal use – suitable for technical models, functional prototypes, enclosures, miniatures, cosplay accessories, etc.
- Compatible with most 405 nm LCD/MSLA printers – Elegoo, Anycubic, Creality, Phrozen, and others.
Recommended applications
This gray ABS-like Prof. Lab resin is particularly suitable for:
- functional prototypes and technical parts where better toughness than standard resin is required,
- models for design checks (the gray color highlights shapes without distracting reflections),
- figures and miniatures with fine details,
- parts for further processing – sanding, drilling, gluing, filling, and painting.
Recommended printing parameters (approximate)
Specific values may vary depending on the printer and firmware, but the following can be used as initial settings:
- UV wavelength: 405 nm (standard for desktop LCD/MSLA printers)
- layer height: 0,025–0,05 mm for detailed prints, 0,05–0,1 mm for faster functional parts
- exposure time (normal layers): approximately 2–3 s (depending on the output of the LCD/LED panel)
- exposure time for initial layers: approx. 25–40 s
- number of bottom layers: 4–8
After printing, the model must be rinsed in isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or a dedicated resin cleaner and then post-cured in a UV station to achieve final mechanical properties.
Safety and handling
As with all photopolymer resins, basic safety rules must be followed:
- use protective gloves and, if possible, safety glasses,
- work in a well-ventilated area or with an enclosure and filter,
- avoid contact with skin and eyes,
- store in a well-sealed bottle in a dry, cool place, out of reach of children and animals.
Dispose of leftover resin and contaminated paper/towels as hazardous waste in accordance with local regulations.
Key features overview
- type: ABS-like photopolymer resin
- color: gray (grey)
- intended for: LCD/MSLA/SLA 3D printers with wavelength 405 nm
- characteristics: tougher, less brittle, suitable for functional and visual models
- surface: more matte, highly readable, suitable for detail inspection and painting
This resin is an excellent choice if you are looking for a compromise between precise, detailed printing and higher mechanical durability, similar to what you know from ABS-type filaments.
Key features:
- ABS-like photopolymer resin with higher toughness and lower brittleness than standard resin
- Neutral gray color, ideal for checking details and final painting
