Product description

Prof. Lab ASA White (white) 1 kg – professional ASA filament for outdoor use

The professional ASA filament Prof. Lab ASA White (white) 1 kg is designed for users who need highly durable functional parts with a long service life even in demanding conditions. The ASA material (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) has been developed as a replacement for ABS with significantly better UV stability and weather resistance, so it does not degrade or yellow when exposed to sunlight for long periods of time.

Thanks to the combination of mechanical strength, toughness and heat resistance, it is ideal for technical prints, prototypes, covers, brackets and outdoor parts – everywhere where PLA or PETG is insufficient.

Main benefits and applications

  • High resistance to UV radiation and weathering Ideal for outdoor parts – electronics covers, sensor mounts, garden accessories, advertising and information boards, etc.
  • Strength and toughness comparable to ABS Handles mechanical loads, impacts and vibrations very well, suitable for structural parts, brackets, mounting elements or prototypes in industry and workshops.
  • Better dimensional stability than ABS ASA generally shows lower warping and curling during printing than classic ABS (at the correct bed temperature and with an enclosed print chamber), which makes it easier to print larger parts.
  • Resistance to water and chemicals ASA parts have good resistance to moisture and common chemicals, which is useful, for example, for technical components, covers and jigs in more demanding environments.
  • Matte white surface The white color provides a clean technical look, is well suited for both design and functional parts and allows easy post‑processing (sanding, gluing, filling, painting).

Recommended applications

  • outdoor and exterior parts (covers, brackets, camera and sensor mounts)
  • automotive accessories and mounts for interior and exterior use
  • technical prototypes and functional components
  • electrical and electronic enclosures and covers
  • parts used in workshops, garages or industrial environments

Technical specifications

The specific "Prof. Lab" brand is based on the typical behavior of quality ASA filaments on the market. The values are indicative, suitable for 3D print settings.

Basic parameters

  • Material: ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate)
  • Color: white (White)
  • Filament diameter: 1,75 mm
  • Net weight: 1 kg
  • Recommended material density: approx. 1,05 g/cm³

Recommended print settings

  • Nozzle temperature: 240–260 °C (start around 245–250 °C and fine-tune if necessary depending on the printer and speed)
  • Bed temperature: 90–110 °C (to reduce warping, the upper part of this range is recommended)
  • Recommended print speed: 30–80 mm/s (for good surface quality and dimensional accuracy, use rather mid-range values)
  • Print chamber: a closed or at least partially covered print area is recommended
  • Part cooling: minimal to none (only light airflow for small details)

Material properties (typical ASA)

  • UV resistance: high, suitable for long-term outdoor use
  • Heat resistance: up to approx. 90–100 °C (HDT at 0,45 MPa)
  • Water resistance: good
  • Chemical resistance: good against common oils and some solvents
  • Strength and toughness: comparable to or higher than ABS

Tips for successful ASA printing

  • Use glue, an adhesion spray or a special print surface for ABS/ASA-type materials to minimize corner lifting.
  • Prevent drafts – ASA is sensitive to rapid temperature changes, so using an enclosed printer or enclosure is ideal.
  • For larger parts, consider a brim/raft to improve bed adhesion.
  • For a perfect appearance, prints can be sanded, filled and painted – ASA is easy to post‑process.

Who Prof. Lab ASA White is suitable for

  • Advanced hobby users looking for a reliable material for functional parts
  • Professional users and companies that print technical components, prototypes and outdoor parts
  • Makerspaces, schools and laboratories that need a more durable alternative to PLA/PETG for practical projects

Prof. Lab ASA White (white) 1 kg is an excellent choice wherever you need a combination of mechanical strength, heat resistance and long-term UV stability in a clean white finish.
